Natural Resources Division Director- Tucson Office

Tierra Right of Way service with offices in Tucson, Phoenix, Santa Fe and Washington State is searching for a full time-Natural Resources Division Director for the Tucson Office. The director will manage all environmental projects, including budgets, schedules and invoicing. The Director will provide staff oversight, training, report oversight related to NEPA, CWA, federal resource management plans (BLM, USFS) and a range of local regulatory processes in Arizona and New Mexico. Director will maintain positive client relationships and market services to establish new clients prepare proposals and assist with multi-disciplinary SOQs.  The successful candidate will have the minimum qualifications: Bachelor degree in a natural resource field; 8-15 years of increasingly responsible and technical positions; Experience in preparing BA, BE and EA documents; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Experience assisting clients with environmental compliance projects; Experience managing and training staff. The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications: Master degree is a natural resource field; professional experience in Arizona and New Mexico; Experience preparing EIS; Experience preparing Certificates of Environmental Compatibility; Experience with Utility projects.

Environmental Planner II and Senior Environmental Planner- Tempe Office

 

Logan Simpson Design is a growing environmental and design firm with unique and exciting project looking to add new talent to our growing team. Two positions are open:

 

Environmental Planner II: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare, with limited supervision, Categorical Exclusion and Environmental Determination reports, Environmental Overviews, and sections of Environmental Assessments for minor projects in both rural and urban environments. Assist in the preparation of complex EIS, EA, CE and environmental determination projects. Attend field review and prepare field notes, independently prepare public scoping materials, hazardous material record checks and preliminary site assessments. Under limited supervision organized and facilitates public and agency meetings, demonstrate sound judgments concerning the applicability of environmental regulations to project situations and effectively respond to other professional staff requests for input and direction related to NEPA.

 

Minimum Qualifications; Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Planning, Engineering, landscape Architecture or Environmental Studies or closely related field. Up to four years of experience, competent writing and verbal communication skills, competent orienteering skills (map, GPS, compass). Excellent research abilities, knowledge of firm’s word processing, spreadsheet and data managements systems. Demonstrates competence in use and knowledge of Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Sections 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act, Title VI.

 

Senior Environmental Planner: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Independently prepares all levels of NEPA and technical reports at all levels of complexity including CE, ED, EO and EA. Under limited supervision prepares EIS documents, independently organizes and facilitated public and agency meetings. Independently demonstrates sound judgment concerning the applicability of environmental regulations to project situations and can effectively respond to other professional staff requests for input and directions related to NEPA.  Performs Quality Control on all levels of environmental documents and follows technical quality standards and quality control program in completions of assigned work. Fulfills Client manager role with clients as assigned and fulfills Project Manager and Project Coordinator roles on projects as assigned. Meets Scope, schedule and budget obligations or informs Project Manager in advance if obligations cannot be met. Demonstrates expertise in an area of technical focus and participates in service line technical standard development and training presentations. Demonstrates the ability to organize, lead and supervise the work of and perform successfully as an Environmental Planner I-II, including providing feedback about project progress and quality or other performance related information.

 

Education and Experience: Master of Science or Arts Degree in Biology, Planning, Anthropology, Engineering, Landscape Architecture or Environmental Studies or closely related field with six (6) years of consulting or agency experience or equivalent combination.
